CHILDREN

Five years ago God placed a burden on our hearts for the children of Camden.  A friend of ours was a teacher in Camden NJ, around Christmas time his wife put out a request for help on her Facebook page, saying that some of the children in the school were in desperate need. They were coming to school in freezing weather without coats, and their families had no money to get them new ones. That first year, before our concert was created, we asked some friends, family, and church members to help and donated the items to the teacher's house, so he could give them to the kids. That was the tiny spark that started it all.

 

     The following year, we felt strongly that God was calling us to do even more, and the idea came to do a benefit concert. I love playing music, and so do many of our friends, and my husband acts behind the scenes to see that everything from lighting, sound, advertising, and the layout of the show goes smoothly. So here we are are year three of The Camden Children's Benefit Concert, and God has allowed us to do great things for Him and these kids.  So far we have partnered with both Public Schools in Camden, and with Fellowship House of South Camden (an afterschool program for kids to help keep them safe.  They help them with tutoring for their homework, share God's Word with them, and they provide an afterschool snack for them until their parents get home from work). 

 

     We have helped hundreds of kids so far, and we are excited to see the future and all that God has in store for our ministry!
